When the DC started talking about Target finally removing their heads from their asses and trying to catch up with the likes of Amazon, they talked about all the changes in the future. They said TGT needs to find a way to get the product from the vendor to the guests quicker and more efficiently. I distinctly remember the SDD saying, "That doesn't mean we need you guys to work harder. We need to find ways to work smarter. "
Well, that abruptly went out the window. Not to mention, with the exception of how they changed LOS, no significant changes have been made to "work smarter" it seems. They HAVE cut down the time we have to get back to work after breaks from 5 minutes to 4 minutes. They have put ridiculous expectations on the amount of time between scans for WHS. They keep making these minor tweaks when what is needed are major changes in processes and technology.
This mindset is why Target will NEVER be able to compete with Amazon and Wal-Mart. It's sad to see.
