As someone who went through Intel ACT last year, office leasing had nothing to do with our site closure. There were 4+ years left on our lease. So I don't buy the London office surviving due to office lease note.

Highly probable heard this site and a a others on the chopping block. These sites had been bought too soon for closure in ACT 2016.

Intel has used the RIF acronym for a long time in regards to layoffs vs site closures or division elimination. I remember it was a part of the verbiage in the paperwork for my first seed assignment back in the era of enlightenment.

The London office is irrelevant, it belongs to Intel Capital, no R&D there

yes They are not the real leaders. They are making company going other way. Lets hope someone realise and stop this layoffs and focus on key growth areas and invest into the right talent.

RIF? Intel doesn't use this terminology. Is this a site we got thru an acquisition?

I know there's still a London office which only survived ACT due to an office lease that Intel couldn't get out of.
