I didn't question what gets charged to work orders. I contradicted the comments about admin charges which are totally different.

Why are you bragging about being a cheat though? Regardless of what we think about Honeywell, what you are doing is essentially stealing.

Wow...leadership troubles in Ottawa? Thought that the Multi-Site Director came up from Clearwater and fixed everything for Bronze a few years back. Hopefully Ottawa leadership doesn't go the same way Urbana did.

You come across as being very defensive. Sounds like you are in management. Believe me..,..work orders are charged 2 to 3 times more than they should be. I know it for a fact because I do it and so do a lot of other people. Maybe time isn't charged so much to admin but it sure is added to the work orders.

Let's face it, we're all here for the pay cheque and easy overtime is just an extra bonus for everyone....60 hours a week is pretty good money. Easy money and no pressure. Loving it!

Last site leader set the bar pretty low so the new gal should be able to look good.

Some of the comments below are BS. Admin is scrutinized to a ridiculously high level which has eliminated progress. I can corroborate that Honeywell acquiring that site absolutely destroyed it. Most top talent has left and the rest is following soon. They can't hire fast enough to slow the bleeding.

Honeywell is imploding under it's own weight.

Be careful with names guys - read the board rules.

Good content here but you dont want to cross the line and in that case mods will delete the whole thread.

I hate when they do this so please read the rules - no bad language and no names/personal info

PER surveys are not used as a tool for improvement. They are used as a confirmation that the policies put in place are creating dissent and driving attrition. Remember everyone, HON has ZERO interest in retaining ANYONE. This is especially true if you live in the US as all our jobs are moving to H1B visa holders and emerging maaahkets. Do not delude yourselves into thinking that these PER surveys are going to induce any changes to improve the hellish conditions here. If anything, they are used for the opposite.

I agree with everything from the previous message. Our PER survey should sum up the results. Last year very bad results and nothing changed. What will change this year?

Welcome On Board Lorie...hope you have what it takes to manage these people. You will need to shake up a couple of managers especially the ones who have been here for 20 + yrs. How does a manager survive so long when she doesn't acknowledge her employees...no Good Mornings, no communication, no smiles just a

depressed sad looking frown all day. Showes favouritizim and covers for a few of her favourites. Old style management. No room in the 21st century for this style of management. The only reason why she is still here and in the position she has is because she and the previous site leader are close friends for the past 25 years. Friends promote friends and watch over each other's back. There is no place in the workplace today for these kind of people. No motivation for the rest of us...it feels like the ship is sinking and it's just a matter of time when it goes down. Need to do a major 5S on these people.

I think those 'old timers' are the main reason the company is shaking us all down. So many have been hanging on so long and have a sense of entitlement because so. And like you said, they are so resistant to change. Really guys, it's time to retire. It's not just Ottawa, it's at every site (mostly U.S.).

Lorie will have his hands full. Previous and current management was/is weak and couldn't implement anything new and if they did they couldn't substain it. Current employees resist change especially the old timers who have been here for a long time. People generally work 60 hours a week just to get their pay checks and there is no accountability when they charge hours to admin. Management has no idea as they do not monitor time sheets or what is charged to admin. It's a free for all and chaos everyday. Just the way people like it here. We could produce 60 - 75 % more work with no overtime if the place had good management and some of the old timers walked to the door.
