Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Isilon is at the gallows

Massive layoffs starting at Dell EMC Isilon in Seattle. Condolences to the s---ers who actually believed Michael Dell that he wasn't going to do that.

Equallogic folks are getting free package. Our director told us last week not to worry as equallogic is still selling and making money. We are all sitting idle and not even fixing bugs. Wonder how long the party will last.

All EMC products are obsolete, ancient VMAX, VNX, Unity and Dells SC, EQL.

Project managers and network engineers have apparently already started getting chopped. HR people were chopped a little while back. The scuttlebutt is the entire Seattle office is going to be shuttered.

Any and all storage products are in jeopardy @ Dell. If the numbers don't show a double digit increasing revenue stream you can be assured it's a target for cuts, either in people or the entire product line. A customer would have to be crazy to make any investment in legacy Dell or EMC storage products right now, no way to know which one is still going to be a viable product 12 months from now and that's not even considering most of the EMC products are obsolete architecture with too layers of software on top to try and make them look current and still relevant.
