You are just a number - deal with it... OpenText stopped being a software company when Barrenechea took over. It operates nowadays as a private equity firm driven by M&A not innovation because it's cheaper to borrow money and acquire than it is to innovate and sell new products.

@dnxn Digging the archives today innit? ;-)
This comment was made 8 and a half years ago. Every year, it gets worse. I don't know how OpenText is as successful as it is with all the disgruntled employees.
An OpenText still exists, albeit Mark B is gone.
I would hope that not all software companies are like OpenText. i've been here 7 years and I can't begin to tell you how it has gone downhill since Mark took over. Our benefits have been slashed, we don't get pay raises; even with a promotion, and we're expected to work pretty much 24/7. Our partner program is a joke and many top partners refuse to work with us. It's all about the money.... for the ELT. Screw the little people busting a-- every day to keep them afloat. And no, jobs are not easy to come by. Until you are in our shoes, you have no idea. Every year, it gets worse. I don't know how OpenText is as successful as it is with all the disgruntled employees.
All software companies are like this.
Unless you work for a small shop, you will always be just a number.
Be a professional, do your work, if there is no work, move on.
There is a plenty of jobs in software, IT, etc... Just deal with this...
