OpenText has continuous travel or hire freezes -- that usually precedes job cuts which happens fairly often - nobody should be surprised about this... Each time OpenText acquires more companies, there are rounds and rounds of layoffs. I dodged at least 20 rounds until my position was selected for termination last year. Be careful. Take care of yourself while you still can.

Heard another round of layoffs coming in Q1. Roughly 150 employees but no specifics on what groups and locations.
OpenText is not special in this regard. During any type of M&A where you need to integrate the employees there is going to be duplication of jobs and they need to re-align. It's egregious with OpenText as they are an acquisition engine so the volume of layoffs is high here, but again, they aren't unique.
Opentext laid off a significant number of employees on 8/31/17 from the newly acquired Covisint just a couple of weeks after they officialized the purchase and the big Rah-Rah meet-and-greet. The office in California has closed. Get out while you can.
Number of layoffs in the San Mateo office last week. Mostly in Customer Support and Maintenance Services.
Confirmed with three colleagues working in customer support out of Open Text's San Mateo office that this Friday (6/30) is their last day..
Don't get me started. I've been let go and re-hired twice. It's the end of June and everybody is on the seat of their chair wondering if they'll make it past July 1. They are making money hand over fist and treating employees like crap. Every year our benefits get slashed, health care decreased and premiums increased. I have no idea how or why OT is as successful as it is. Yes, they have a great vacation package but good luck with that. Even when I'm on vacation, I'm still expected to check in and work. Nobody takes responsibility for their jobs. Everybody passes the buck. And jobs are so hard to come by right now. They know we're just grateful that we're getting a paycheck at this point. I haven't had an increase in 4 years - but I've been promoted twice. Go figure!
nothing new here - it's messed up - they are constantly changing messaging, focus is shifting... it's so dysfunctional it's not even funny any more.
