ACT2 has started. Management promised market to bring numbers of employees in 5 digits. after ACT in 2016, there was lot of hiring and current numbers are much above. I heard yesterday that IOTG have no presence in Ireland now. They have got rid of all employees and site closure there. Also NTG has approx 1000 employees to go. Many more soon. but this time it is done very quietly rahter than last one. hope the management learns something and focus on right direction and market.

Ireland site is in public indurectly as all impacted employees are applying positions in a same jobs. For a recruiter its not a secret anymore. Hearing more cuts on the way for other sites. Now US most likely.
There are moles in the company because the company showed the employees through ACT that it really doesn't care about them. So why should the employees care about the company? Really sad but true.

I can confirm @sgx, this Ireland team does indeed PRQ A-step designs consistently. Seriously, what is going on with this company's schizophrenia and 6 month attention span? And why is this all hush-hush like 2015?
In that case management should be fired not engineers for making wrong decision.
The IOT group in Ireland was associated with the Quark Solutions Division (QSD) - which had a weird track record of not producing products. They would go through the motions, march through the POP process, then poof project cancelled for whatever reason. "Hey - we are the 22nm lead vehicle" - then poof actually the financials didn't work out. "Hey - we have these great ATOM based SoCs" then poof oh yeah, about those SOPHIA designs we were recycling ...
It wasn't for lack of talent and engineering diligence ... it was more a lack of conviction by the senior level management in IOTG.
Of course, IOTG is more a bunch of tribal groups duct taped together anyway - the various teams like TSD, ASD, PED and QSD had no idea what each other was doing, and frequently competed with each other rather than supported each other. It was a weird place where no one trusted what anyone else said or had confidence in another team delivering.
And now throw into the mix an enormously expensive acquisition of Mobileye - obviously some headcount and spending targets have to be adjusted to allow for the new group.
What is really appalling is IOTG is held up as one of Intel's big growth areas.
This is easy to explain. Seriously. The clown has found himself a new fad (IoT sports and the Olympics), got bored and getting rid of the older fad (Makers and wearables). This is simply how BK's lizard brain operates. Any questions why Intel is getting fcked up and will be a shadow of its former self in a few years?

The sad thing here is that this is a group of Engineers who have a track record of delivering quality IP on time, A-step for production...but this just seems not to matter..."All Engineers are the same and the cost of an Engineer is the only criteria"....In short, my job has gone to Bangalore.
If this is effectively a failure of our IoT effort so soon after it began with a lot of investment and much fanfare, then where are the cuts at the executive level?
Honestly, it's hard to know what is happening.
Just last year, the justification for ACT was to focus the company on high growth opportunity businesses - like IoT....which now seems to be on the chopping block.
If this ACT is focused on just the opposite - shedding "low profit or money losing businesses" - then this would be a dramatic reversal in strategy. Such thinking is why Intel missed mobile and why it will miss the next big thing.
Vacillating schizophrenic-ally between the two will ensure failure in both and confusion for all.
I'm not sure which is more demoralizing: Cutting "successful" people from across the business without regard to skills or strategy (i.e. ACT) or cutting people - regardless of performance - associated with a no-longer-desired business.
Churn, hunger-games-style politics, mistrust and fear will follow either way.
ACT was company wide non discriminatory cut. What's mentioned here seem to be focused reduction in low profit or money losing business. If you want to call it ACT2, then I'd say ACT2 is happening in a much more reasonable fashion than ACT.
This is real news. IOT group is gone completely from Ireland even after r&d tax benefits. Approx 100 impacted. Not a good news

Just announced today.
About 60 percent will get other jobs in intel the other 40 percent will be made redundant.
Don't know if this is part of normal operation or part of a larger redundancy scheme.
If any of you loser hating trolls still worked at Intel, you would know why there is no ACT2 or "ACT part 2". You are just a bunch of haters that got kicked to the curb last year or even two years ago.
