Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Wrong People Were Laid Off

I'm the past year the same people who helped EDMC and their brands grow are the people being let go. EDMC analysis and executive failed us. They blame Admissions and faculty for downward spiral of enrollments and bad publicity. But in reality it was those who made the choices for us. So congrats to the executives who got to keep their jobs and are patting each other on the shoulder while saying good job on saving this organization. You guys simply s---! Including our so called CEO and Chairman Mark McEachen. I hope that life treats you better and your golf game improves now that you have all your so called hard earned money from the same people who really worked hard that you failed.

Oh please, please, please free us from Government Sachs so these "leaders" wind up where they belong, in prison, not on the golf course, and certainly nowhere near federal money.

I agree too. All the people who make the place run and actually do the work are blamed for the school's failures. The higher ups need to look at what they have done to the school's reputation by expanding rapidly and having absolutely no standards about quality. This has been a problem since well before the DOE was involved.

I remember the first time the CEO took a million dollar bonus, while no one got raises because we had to "tighten our belts." I've had multiple years of not getting raises after getting stellar performance reviews. We also had our 401k matching stop, despite it being one of the few perks that we still got from EDMC.

Don't even get me started on Salary. A Campus President who just passes down instructions from executives makes about $160,000 per year. Just sits on their asses just to collect and blames DOE for our failures.
