IF the front end rents more books than before, our MANAGER gets a cruise for two people ( a $4000 value) If you read the rules you will find the R.M. gets $10,000. For doing all the hard work, the front end doesn't even get a kiss, but they do get screwed as usual. Now push those 99 cent notebooks !!

This fall the beautiful VPs and Sr. Execs will gather with prospects and clients will gather at Stanford Stadium (likely at the rivalry game V Cal) and drink free booze, eat free food and enjoy goodie bags packed by the staff at the Stanford Bookstore and get great seats to the game. It has happened every year for a long time now. It must cost upwards of $100K considering air fare, hotel, catering, game tickets, etc. follett does know how to throw lots of money at those they pay lots of money to, and to those they already treat well.
In the meantime, head down, put your back into and stroke.
Seriously not paying much attention to it. Just want to run my store, stay under the radar.
Does the RM get the money for top store, or top region?
The tiers, well, as any budget, if you had a good previous year, this years goal will be near impossible.
The store employees always get screwed.
Our SM doesn't deserve to win this cruise, much less our RM receiving $10k. If we had a SM that cared about their employees and actually helped out on a daily basis maybe we would work harder to ensure they won the prize...this contest is the dumbest thing Follett has ever come up with and then who really wants to go on a cruise w/Clay
The hourly employees of all the stores should join a union.
They should divvy up the 10k amongst all the employees of the winning store
They pay SMs to motivate the frontline and RMs to motivate the SMs All taken care of What could go wrong?
Clearly someone in upper management needs to reference the "How To Motivate Employees For Dummies" reference material. Not sure this is gonna check off the necessary boxes to motivate front line folks.
