Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Reality Vs. Wishful Thinking

First, I like the out dated statement "Estimated 2008 revenue is 2.52 billion (USD). Estimated 2008 workforce: 8000 " at the top of the page. I've been with the company for several years and several managers. If you are over 40, the hiring managers at other business make the interview very short once they see your age. So leaving isn't always an option. My current manage loves to be intimidating, offensive, abusive , going beyond rudeness, ... It qualify's as a “hostile” workplace, because the conduct is intentional, severe, recurring and/or pervasive and interfere with the employee's ability to perform his/her job. little every employee - in front of anyone - customer or another employee. My R.M. knows, and H.R. called us before- nothing was done. Several of us are talking about filing a class action lawsuit. I'm not going to flat out quit, I have bills to pay and quitting like that means that they have won.

B.S. If you're older than 40 it will be hardest job search of your life. However, staying isn't an option. It's worse when you're older than 50. That means you'll have to be head and shoulders a better than the 20 somethings. It may mean, too, that you're taking a pay cut. Build the pay cut in. Follett will run you out once you've been around long enough. They don't want older, experienced workers. They've demonstrated that time and again. So, buckle up and take on a tough job search this week! The job market isn't great, but we're do a nasty recession (given the long, shallow recovery and the fact we have a toad in the White House who's top priority is lining his own pockets)
