Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Update from last week’s NTG carnage

Roughly 30% (impacting ~1K of total 3.5K employees) of total NTG employees are now in the pool. NDG gutted by ~80%. MIG (maker group) fully gutted. PerC (+ Drone) slightly smaller. Labs left untouched (for now). People have 2 mo to find another job internally or collect a small package (much smaller than VSP/ISP last year). Other groups to follow soon… G’luck to affected employees!

Makes sense...A few days ago Intel announced that they are going to discontinue the Galileo, Joule, and Edison Development Boards. I suspect that is the Maker group being dissolved?

Valuable people will be lost 1wjq. People move to the new and 'risky' areas because of the excitement of working on something new and learning new technologies. Sometimes the not so valuable people stay in the good old boring areas. But unfortunately, everything new and exciting at Intel seems to crash and burn and the valuable people that moved to those areas go down with them.
