Noob question - how does the 401k match work? I.e. what is the max the company will match? Say my base salary is $42,000 - what is the max on US payroll they will match for contributions. Thanks yall

Best way 2 get the correct information contact H.R. REMEMBER your looking at long term investment!! I was contributing 10% of my bi-weekly payroll also need to know what tie your in. NOV only matches the first 4% the higher tie the more NOV backs you up. AND IF YOU SEE AT 10% IS HURTING YOU FINANCIALLY you can always change your contributions. You figure at 10% biweekly $350 x 2 = $700 monthly x 12 = 8,400.00 a year
Why would you come on this site to ask that question when there are so many accurate resources? Asking that question here only invites incomplete, inaccurate or purposefully misleading information.
Then again, most of the people I've worked with at NOV tend to take polls among co-workers and go with whatever answer they like most (right or wrong), so I get it.
That being said, if you ever attended NOV New Hire Orientation, check your NOV Employee Handbook. Alternatively, you can check the NOV Employee Portal or HR for an accurate answer. But what do I know? Feel free to keep asking around instead of checking accurate resources for yourself.
4% matching or $1680 of your $42K
Of course you also have to put 4% in...
