Anybody know...When's the RIF date for Cupertino and other US sites? How deep is the cut...25%....30%?

The "separation pay plan" was updated on May 26th, 2017 and outlines 1wk per year for under 5yrs of service, 1.5wks per year for 5 but fewer than 10yrs, and 2wks per year for over 10yrs with a max of 50 weeks. So unless they plan on changing the terms the day of the rif, then that's not true.
Also heard severance is getting cut. Rumor is 1 month max like IBM.
If you worry about RIF, time to explore new jobs. If you are in your 50's, get ready for early retirement. Steve Luczo's plan for WD interest payment of buying SanDisk to crush WD does not pan out.
Going to cloud storage system does not seem to work. Hynix NAND deal off and on, not getting anywhere. No break through on HAMR. Cut max vacation for senior employees and now no set paid vacation. Rumored no more severance. RIF rumors one after another. Any depressing news I missed?
any news of any layoff today 28th June 2017?
Which one is it, June 28 or July 19? Anyone on here from HR brave enough to confirm?
There is no policy on when RIFs happen. 19 years @ slavegate and it can be any day, even over the phone. July 19th is the date unless a miracle happens and WD closes shop.
July 19th does not fit the pattern of Wednesday of paycheck-week in the US which has been the pattern for more than a decade.
I also heard July 19th as the RIF date
Hearing July 19th for RIF in the US.
June 28th confirmed.
Well, heck, sounds like a lawsuit to me.

I actually know a couple of teams in LCO that hired ""non-traditional" aged interns and new grads (30s/40s) in the last year or so. Not older workers, but also not 20 year olds. And I though the reason a lot of companies including Seagate hire new grads is primarily to save money on salary/bonus?
They officially use "new grads", but let me know if you ever see Seagate hire and oldster new grad. ha!
I read the comment "Oh boy. It's that time again. Better be careful with all that chopping Seagate, you might just cut off your own limbs. It's so confusing when you hear HR complain that they can't find young people with skills to hire. Well, if they walked around our facilities stuck in the late 90's it might give a clue."
If you hear HR saying this, I would record and/or tell them that what they are doing is age discrimination! Because that what they are doing! Trying to hire young and lay-off older!
I'm guessing next Wednesday- same day last year when a big RIF happened.
Anyone know how many have been RIF'd this fiscal year against the management's announced target last summer?
Layoffs this week or next?

Well didn't you get the email?? This company can run by itself without any infrastructure. The sheer will by the high executives alone are all that's needed.
I think in certain areas it will be more than that. Without a CIO to stand up for IT, IT could be decimated. Problem is IT runs the factories. Not just HR and ERP.
I would count on June 28th or 29th. Close out the fiscal year with another RIF. Also think it will be 30%.
