Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Server sales down for 5th straight quarter!!

x86 sales are flat but nowhere close to high single digit growth promised to investprs by Intel.

DCG has been in a purple patch for last few years with unfettered spending on hiring and acquisitions. Nothing is going to come out of all that investment. Perhaps biggest contributor to wastage in Intel. NS should do the same thing to DCG as he did with CCG - decimate.

Ouch, the lone area holding the ship afloat is sinking. All hail AI, autonomous driving, drones, watches, memory and modems to the rescue!

CSPs will just roll their own chips once the foundries blow past TMG.

Intel is still a virtual monopoly in servers. The primary issue is downward pressure on margins by dominant CSPs.

It is Intel only. Intel has 98% of the CPU server market

This is not "Intel" only. The market will bounce back. It's cyclical.

"Coming to x86 servers, per IDC, shipments for x86 servers remain flat year over year. Revenues from these servers were $10.6 billion, while non-x86 server revenues plunged 30.9% to $1.3 billion."

Non x86 in worse shape.
