Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Poorly run oncampus recruiting event

Was having a conversation with some recently out of school working engineers and they we talking about campus recruiting events from their schools a few years ago. They didn't know I worked for Honeywell and unprompted, one mentioned how unprepared Honeywell was at the on campus recruiting event. Now, this is a large well known university with outstanding engineering students that you would think we'd want to recruit. Well, this was a large recruiting event with a lot of well known companies and the young engineer specfically mentioned that Honeywell was only company that didn't pre upload what jobs they were recruiting nor did they have any information about the company and noted how unprepared the rep was. He did stopped by the both and asked if they were recruiting for any plants near where he lived. He stated the HON rep was basically very rude and told the then student he didn't know anything about the plants or that division and they were only recruiting for Aero... Well, we certainly didn't CONNECT with those talent engineering grads.

If you think that the posters here are "whiners and losers", why not post your opinion somewhere else? You have an a$$hole too, but I don't wanna hear about that, either.

Is Honeywell be advised by Eddie Lampert?

@-1xzw

You sound sadistic enough to be a member of the ALT. Perhaps you are. How could anyone with a brain defend what is going on? Are you MS?

Honeywell depends on self-mutilation to increase profits with no increase in sales or new product development while customers are fleeing. No measurement for that; the game is rigged.

@1wft , well you don't need to be Warren Buffett to see and understand what's going on here at honeyhell. They're keeping the stock price propped up artificially with asset and real estate sales, outsourcing, benefit reductions and other cost saving measures. It's very similar to cannibalism; sure you're eating good for a while but eventually you run out of things to eat and then the game is over.

-1xzw -- I did get out -- five years ago. I can see that a bad situation has only gotten worse.

I always find it humorous that all of these engineers post on this site about how they know so much more about running all aspects of a company and how everything anyone else does is wrong. Making judgements without any facts or knowledge is a great position to be in. Must be a terrible life to be this miserable all of the time. Enjoy your whining.

What college grad would even think about working at honeywell? The power of connected is the future and they're actively trying to decrease their US workforce while increasing their foreign workforce. The future of HON is 3rd party subcontractors with no benefits and temporary contracts. The idea that any graduate with a brain would even think about honeywell sounds crazy to me. Any port in the storm, I suppose.

Hmmm. The OP states:

  1. Was having a.....

  2. specfically

  3. He did stopped.....

  4. ...by the both....

If you can't even produce a post with correct grammar and spelling, please stop complaining about Honeywell not attracting talent.

Yep! That was the whole purpose of HOS. Write down what you do so we can fire you and hire some guy in Indiar or Chiner to do your job for $5 hr. Quality? Hahaha we aren't concerned with quality; only money. We can rework this part 3 times and still come out ahead, so, bye bye American workers, hello emerging markets H1B visas and outsourcing. Dave thanks you all for making him filthy, stinking rich. Oh by the way, if any of you serfs complain about this practice, you will be labeled a bad apple with a bad attitudes and forced out of the company. Enjoy your life.ited number of work days left, members of the proletariat!

Interesting how Honeywell hires and fires at the same time. I guess its not that they don't need people, just that they don't want to pay much for them. With HOS anyone can do anything, right?

Exactly. They only want kids who will agree to work long hours for low pay and no future.
