Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Conoco needs to downsize it's workforce and restructure immediately!

Oil prices in the $40 are here to stay unless Iran attacks Saudi Arabia. If Conoco wants to stop losses and start showing profits per outstanding share more reductions in overhead are required. Closing Bartlesville campus and shifting those tasks to Houston should be done sooner than later. Restructuring and centralizing should start as soon as possible.

In Exxon bottom 5% - 10% get let go every year so they are and have been faced with possible layoff every year. Not so different here!

No we like being under threat of layoff and restructuring so much that we will probably continue this process for two more years. I would not be surprised if we don't hear some kind of announcement that layoffs will be deep in Bartlesville but COP plans to stay. Then as we are about complete that process with decision coming down to close Bartlesville. Just enough bait to really mess up the ones that stay to the end.

This is a company with pre-shale assets in a shale world with shelf (not deepwater) offshore capability ... big trouble ahead.
