Our market team was visiting today and I eavesdropped on them outside smoking and I heard them say a new group of store closings would be announced tomorrow. Anybody else heard the same thing? I'm in the Northeast.

As you saw OP someone posted that 49 Kmart stores are closing and another thread saying 2 CA are closing. We will know soon which other stores are actually closing pretty soon.

@kjw, that Regatta thing is pretty much a joke. Read the press release. 11 stores total in the coastal northeast.
Its going to be a regular occurrence until bankruptcy. Frankly I'm surprised when more than a few weeks without a store closing announcement goes by. Its very clear from even Eddie's interviews a few weeks ago that end times are coming. He was very obviously setting a stage to blame others for the company's failure.

This new stuff is supposed to be sold in the Northeast initially. Frankly it makes no sense at any level. Sears customers are not REI-type customers

1,900 pricing changes were pushed in my store on Monday morning, mainly in pantry and hba. Something is up when a can of evaporated milk is now 2.99, house brand 12 pack soda is now 3.99.
