Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

DCG changes

DB is stepping away the leadership of DCG. A VR's henchman is taking over. What do you think this means?

Exit strategy is about how you will support yourself and live your life in the event you are VSP'd ERP'd or otherwise ACT'd on and you are no longer on the intel dole. Plan for it now.

Your thoughts please.... What advice would you give for a good exit strategy? I heard that in a meeting not to long ago, "have a good exit strategy" , I took it as a passive heads up for us in the meeting.

Why all the fuss about Diane ? She did nothing to grow DCG... just a pretty face to meet BK 's diversity quota....

All of the palace intrigue at Intel ("who will take the fall?") distracts from Intel once again becoming a world-class company.

Sad thing is that expertise in palace intrigue is the principal skill of those in senior leadership.

Wow. I stepped away for a couple of days and came back to this.

First off, Skaugen built DCG, not Diane. DB was somewhat capable at best - she did not grow anything that was not already in flight. NS is also not a leader - he will only make things worse, and hasn't done anything at CCG to prove otherwise. Another thread here suggests that Stacy Smith will take the fall for 10nm, and I would bet heavily that would be an accurate assessment.

Folks, review your exit strategy, whether job or investment holdings. This ship has taken on water, and will slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly sink to its demise. But its sinking is an absolute certainty.

Sad days at intel, bozo from San Jose State and new henchman doing a cut and burn to save their sorry a$$ so they continue to collect big paycheck at your expense.

How was your raise compared to the executives and VPs?

GPTW?

DB refused large scale layoffs. NS hit almost 50% during ACT ( in CCG). So in comes the hatchetman. BK bought an years extension from the board for the bloodbath to be unleashed on DCG. Kudos to DB for standing up to BK & refusing random meaningless reductions. Next summer VM would take over the reins & BK would retire. Great for BK, VM, NS and all the QC recruits. A sad ending for many capable, hardworking Intel employees.BK is a cheetah hunting down Gazelles that thirst and pause for a drink in his own words....

The only changes BK seems to be capable of is firing people. Everything else is either a propaganda or a failure. Not sure is anyone is dying to buy those Curie smart shoes, BK continues to entertain the galleries with jokes like these. What's next, a smart comb?

DCG's lack of growth is likely the reason for her departure.... as for her promotion it could be the game BK is playing with the diversity BS.... it looks bad to fire a female VP since he is promoting females whether they are competent or not, so it looks better to say she is leaving for family reasons.

divorce or serious illness in the family? Hard to image she was sidelined.

People like that at the top don't have family... it is all about their career. If they step back it is either a reorganization and lost, or series health issues personally or family, and will never come back the same.

No she got canned

@dnm

Her replacement is hardly an outsider. If this is related with performance issues why she got a promotion less than a month ago? This was an internal fight. Fatso won and he placed one of his own to replace DB. All her team will be purged.

Where is she going? Home. She has a family issue and is taking leave. Do you not believe this official story?

Amazingly, raises my opinion of BK. Maybe he saw through the pretty face to the lack of integrity and incompetence underneath. Bringing in an outsider to run the place implies skepticism of the entire leadership there.

DCG growth at "only" 6% year-to-year, instead of expected 10-15...

Good question. Official story is family issue.
