Extereme's cash requirement was 68M for Avaya and 35M for Brocade, they can afford both and they dont seem to think Avaya is a fit in Data Centers but will use for Large Campuses.
The bidding/auction is on May 23rd, so there cannot be any bids at this time. There have been several companies looking at it, however. and it's likely that there will be more registered bidders at auction time. Doubtful that Extreme has the financial strength to bid much higher - particularly with the Brocade purchase.
Literally no other bids for Networking at this time - Extreme is the 'stalking horse', so other bids are not even allowed until the designated window opens . They simply found a better deal for a better price ... just like shopping on eBay ...
there have been other bids for Networking and Extreme cannot afford to go any higher than the $100m, even that was stretch so they are attempting to compete by buying other networking companies
