Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Stop the Madness

So, our glorious leaders have generously agreed to accept a slightly lower incentive bonus even though they have collectively mismanaged things to the point of bankruptcy. In light of the Trustee's objection to their initial proposal, they decided to take a lower payout. I guess something is better than nothing; however, they clearly don't deserve a penny for what they have put Avaya through. Here is their very lame justification for why they deserve a bonus:

  • managing through supply chain disruption arising after the Petition Date with real-time communication across the Debtors’ global supply chain;

  • attrition in sales and leadership positions that have increased the relative workloads and borne by executive leadership;

  • near-constant communication with key distribution partners and customers (most of which are not subject to long-term contracts) to ensure their continued support;

  • continuing to push growth in cloud-based initiatives, which require the Debtors and their business partners to sell through long term partnerships despite the overhang of this restructuring;

  • hundreds of telephonic conferences with customers and vendors—many of which are outside the United States and generally unfamiliar with chapter 11—to reinforce the Debtors’ “business-as-usual” message;

-regular in-person meetings and ongoing dialogue with key business partners to further reinforce the Debtors’ business-as-usual message; and

  • developing, designing, and implementing customer loyalty programs, partner incentives, and sales programs to combat competitors’ public efforts to steal business from the Debtors.

Seriously? They want a bonus because they are having to work harder because they drove the company into bankruptcy? The absolute arrogance of these pathetic losers is mind-boggling to say the least. What's really comical is they have the audacity to cite letters from two of the companies THEY hired as some kind of justification that they deserve this bonus. Pathetic.

Without bonus our executives will stop working and lead us to Chapter 7.

If you look at their monthly operating report filed in court yesterday, they are at about 10million dollars net income on about 250-260 million revenues (large drop compared to 900mil total for Q2 2016) for end of Feb.

They took so far ~30 million (biggest amount since 2012) in restructuring expenses (lay off, re-org etc.) and other fees .. If they can pull any numbers in for the rest of March and add in the Interest Expenses (which they did last Q1 to the amount of 174 millions), they will no doubt have an easy shot at meeting this minimum adjusted EBITDA of 166millions. 100-150 millions in interest expenses is not out of the question because the yearly amount is average about 450 million dollar of interest.

They know what the numbers they will get already and use that lower bonus amount to make it looks like they really feel for the employees and their losses. KK will get close to a million instead fo 1.6 million.. Wow that's a small change for him!

I hope the judge see through this and sustain the objection.

I can't understand why everyone is so upset. I think KK is a visionary and a tremendous leader.
