Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

In Feb Aicha said there would be significant pain in her organization on the march to profitability

Yet we still haven't heard anything. Does this mean we are safe?

And by 'Pain', what on earth could she mean other than 'ACT2'?

Itanium was the future and so much was invested that it was going to happen.

Sorry there are no sure things, got to wonder is wireless really a core asset and what intels competitive advantage. Yeah it is the next big thing but will intel be successful because it must make it so? Phones were must win and intel failed!

Lots more pain is assured as it ain't a strength of intel and likely the end is already know as all you need to do is look around to see why the end is all but assured

Well... you miss the big picture. 5G is not just smartphones - it's much more than that....

@fjn. What made you to say 'only in 5G there is good chance to profitability' ? My opinion is that unless Aicha is able to find a big customer in addition to Apple there is no road to profitability.

The journey to profitability will take much more time. only in 5G there is good chance to profitability. Aicha's organization is safe as wireless is critical element in every solution and too much money already invested in R&D. You are safe.

Yes, you are safe under your desk, just keep calm and don't move, they won't find you.
