Motherboards sold out because there were or only a few hundred in stock.

Truthfully, the next AMD share price bump won't come from Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 5.
The next share price bump will come from Vega and RavenRidge...if AMD can gain some market share in GPU too, and as icing on the cake if a big OEM uses RavenRidge.
RavenRidge will be big in portables like laptops if successful..While one can argue that Intel still leads the CPU market, and Nvidia leads the GPU....Neither have a SOC that does reasonably will on both.
Ryzen CPU and Vega GPU on one on SOC would be an exception, escpually if the Ryzen CPU core in RavenRidge can close the gap.so it becomes good enough.. Which would be a huge.
Exactly the same game Qualcomm played in mobile having one SOC that included an app processor, LTE modem, and wifi/bluetooth..It was so effective, QCOM vendor locked out all other semi companies trying to sell discrete components...TXN, Broadcom, Marvel..etc.etc.etc.
The the funny part is QC wasn't even at the top of the game for each component. It was top of the line for part of the solution, but by virtue of having a "good enough" solution with everything else on one SOC, that complete solution sold as hotcakes.
Interesting AMD is using the same exact playbook with Raven Ridge. It's no surprise they moved that produce up 1 quarter
That's why all the motherboards were sold out then
Yawn. No one is buying PC's anymore, remember?
