Attention Hiring Managers. You are about to get very lucky. A tidal wave of extremely talented marketing professionals is about to hit the market. After 15 years—and a track record of excellent performance—I was formally notified that my job is no longer available to me. Not just me. Countless numbers of colleagues were also impacted by IBM’s new co-location policy. This is not your standard “skills rebalancing.” We have the skills. We are excellent at what we do and represent the best marketing talent in the industry.

Unfortunately, skills and talent have become a secondary qualification to location. You’ll have to ask us individually why we didn’t take the offer to relocate. I found it to be absurd.

Performance Marketers. Content Marketers. Product Marketers. Portfolio Marketers. Event Marketers. Branding Experts. Marketing Strategists. If you have a need, we have the expertise. We’re smart, passionate, and dedicated. We stand up for what we believe.

IBM’s loss is your reward. Give us serious consideration. We won’t be available very long. We’re that good.

Very well written. I've been with IBM for 21 years. I run circles around what will eventually be my replacements. Yes plural, 5 of them to be exact. In the end, its the clients that will finally put an end to the incompetence that IBM has sold its reputation to. Years ago, you'd say the name IBM and you knew you wee paying more for the service but it was worth it...you get what you pay for. Now the very thing that enabled IBM to charge those high prices; highly skilled resources, years of experience, the best educations, the most committed to IBM and success for the client are being traded for low cost employees that could careless about the success of IBM. Their culture does not allow for thinking out of the box so how in the world are they suppose to turn this big ship around to innovative thinking? I used to be so proud to tell people that I work for IBM. Now I just keep my head down and work as hard as I can, but then again, that's a true IBM'er.
