Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Get out while you can.

This "company" has been a sinking ship since before I started in 2012. Constant hemorrhaging of experienced, talented, dedicated folks (both old and young) and their replacement with low-cost low-effectiveness people in India ("best-shoring", as the asses in HR and at the top call it). Intelligent graduates join the company and rarely last past one year. Bonuses are few and far between and consistently low. Raises (even cost-of-living raises) are rare. The company is run by a pack of vultures with no demonstrated success or interesting skills to their names; just old politicians with MBAs and friends in the right places. Everyone at HPE/"DXC Technology" (what a joke) constantly lives in fear of layoffs. In short, this place is terrible and any responsible person should be applying to other jobs like crazy. I certainly am!

Pathetic company. Employees are fearful monkeys, managers are foul-mouthed, self-centered, malevolent and verbally violent. A horrible place to work. HPE was at one point a decent place to work, a place that cared a bit about its people, who were above average but not outstanding. CSC, on the other hand, has proven to be full of mediocre talents and grasping manager, whose management has been installed in leadership positions. Now getting no new customers. The only people this place is benefitting are the former private equity managers who are at the top. They are trying to s--- as much money as they can from this place, while they can. No amount of lipstick wil make this pig pretty. Buyer beware, caveat emptor.

All statements above are 100% acurate. I Cant talk about csc as i never worked there but for sure HPE is a very unheathly work environment, extremly political, if you are conected well you survive otherwize you are WRFired in a couple of years. No performence is measures for real. Total lack of investment and no clear vision nor mission for the business. Looks like the merge of csc and hpe are aiming simply on putting together two broken cars, joining the peices and praying that any big boys like TCS, WIPRO or IBM will buy them. Very sad to say but this dcx stand up wont take more the 2 years.

The only reason I'm still here is: 1) I don't get unemployment if I quit, and 2) if I'm entitled to a severance package, I want it. No matter how small.

Meanwhile, I'm staying under the radar to see what happens while polishing the resume.

low-cost yes, because best-shore costs 1/5 in some cases, less-effective may be by 1/2, now do the cost-benefit. If your competitors are killing you with this cost-model, how can you be in the business unless you are Google or Apple.

"No value for knowledge or skills" is so true. Stop fretting about all the chaos. Two years ago I reduced my work week from 60 to 40 hours and guess what. I make the same salary, I have far less stress, and the sun still comes up in the morning. Lighten up and enjoy life. If/when to company kicks you out, it will be their loss and your gain

i would rather say, every proj is lead by a politician here (HPE), they would expect you to be buttering them all time and behave like slaves, Have no respect for resources who doesnt do that.

no value for knowledge or skills. Total mess, top level people here are just to play politics nd nothing more.

@1u00, "Who knew Pontiac Michigan was a cornucopia of mediocre leadership."

I was well aware of this fact due to a prior gig on the GM account, however.... In defense of Pontiac, there are many other places rife with mediocre "leaders". Reading this thread makes me realize we are destined for more of the same.

Men and Women will be thrown overboard with no life preservers or rafts. This is new COLD and impersonal world we live in today. Good Luck to all the folks remaining. Your minds have been brainwashed. Get onboard with reality before you get thrown overboard.

Look around you all the folks with a personality and common sense are gone because management knew who to corner. What left is a bunch of YES men and women and you know the environment that will create. It reminds me of the Jim Carrey movie "Yes Man". The low level banker and his boss were WFR'd. The only people left are Bill Lundberg types. Work your little hearts away for the next round of WFR's. Its a coming and will continue in the Indian Company.

Agreed. Unless you are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome why would you stay. They do not care about you or your contributions. You are inventory as Nefens put it. The job market is good. Leadership here are used car salesman and their organization is as well put together as a Yugo.
