Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

AMD has roughly 9000 employees, Intel has roughly 107000 employees...It's remarkable with 1/10 the resources Intel has, they are able to...

1... Release a brand new, innovative new desktop processor

2... About to release a brand new, innovative GPU for graphics

3... About to release a band new, innovative server processor

With 1/10 the resources of Intel, AMD is in the process of creating products that will disrupt both Intel and Nvidia....

This isn't David versus Goliath... This is more like David versus Goliath and his cousin....

Go AMD....Rooting for the underdog 2x.

Intel is run by a B$er from San Jose State and everyone in leadership for the most part is been a lackey s---ed up by being a yes man to their boss.

Innovation and outsopoke risk taking has been squashed out of the company.

For the most part all managers and senior managers and VPs worry about is not to be blamed for failure. Very few plan to win, just plan to not fail. Sadly most other companies know well who is ahead and play and take risk to win! And they are kicking intel's a$$$ in design, architecture, process.

Intels only competitive advantage was deep pockets and their x86 monopoly but everyone is too happy to find a reason to kick arrogant intel to the curb jus toile BK kicked loyal older workers!

Its simple really. AMD is a tech company run by engineers with the CEO a well decorated engineer.

Intel use to be a company run by well decorated engineers...But now its run by sales and marketing and HR where good engineers take a back seat....And have to subjected to bullsheet HR things like URM , gender neutral bathrooms.., and hiring based on quota, not versus talent....and in order to pay for all this overhead bullsheet...Thy got to cut the expensive good engineers and replace them with cheaper overseas engineers....Actually, the really good engineers go elsewhere where they are paid and respected much better. The ones that stay at Intel cant find anyone else paying them better for their lack of talent.

Right on brotha. Every Goliath has his stone. Intel price gouged everyone. The arrogance is leading them to their demise.

Not to mention Microsoft in the mix to break up the intels dominance.

Doubtful. They are way more effective. I doubt all the foundrys will as up to 80k? Come on. I say total apples to apples 70k.

Intel has to let go of 40k. What intel has had is high margins to ride on. Those days are over. Go look at the oracle page and see the demise. Oracle was taking its customer over the coals in a similar way without competition. No more. And it will be a non competitor in the cloud. Intel will meet a similar fate. Soon they will cut drastically R&D.

But they are fabless, they don't do memory, no networking products. If you take the numbers working in Fabs, Intel has similar number of employees.
