Remember that remote in MANY cases means employees still have to come into the office at least 1 to 2 times a week for face time, so you can't really move and work from wherever you like in a less expensive location than Austin/RR or Franklin. All those collaborative spaces and hotel cubes take up less room than permanent desks. As long as one group has to come in on MW, and the others on TT Dell can close buildings, still have the work force keep in touch, and employees still can't leverage technology to live in a least cost location with great wifi while making an big city salary.

Anyone that believes Dell will be 50% full remote, ever, is dreaming. The management wants to keep a close eye on you, while they are doing nothing.

EMC remote work is a big joke. Virtual vacation, enjoy guys/girls.

It's not work from home, it's work for home.

To the first responder...IBM also is phasing out remote work. They are making all remote employees move close to an office that they will now reside in.

That being said, Dell's goal is to be 50% full remote workforce by 2020.

All I heard is that not one building will be shut down in Hop. Some will be closed but not in Hop. They are planning on moving more people there. Also they are planning on finding ares for many more people to work remote.
