Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Whats up with all the boards?

This is coming from a Kmart perspective so I don't know if Sears is the same. What is up with all the boards they have us hang around the back. Boards with reports in them, HR stuff, 605, brakeroom, LP/AP a board for announcements. It just seems like a waste of money to have a board with reports that no one looks at, most people don;t know how to read the report, and the report prints with the morning paperwork. So money spent on a board, moneyh spent on labor to put the papers in the board each day or week, money spent on paper and just a general thing that makes no sense.

That's what I was saying below. We've always had the ones about the minimum wage and OSHA and all the other legal ones but these are new displays.

Now it's semi technical reports that are put up with no explanation. Usually referencing associates but no one knows how to read them. New & costly especially since the hours of minimum wage earning employees are drastically reduced. Sounds petty but so are the Sears cost cutting measures.

I had the same question. I understand the boards with the legal stuff, but there are boards for the service desk, there are boards for Loss Prevention, there are boards for the online orders, there are boards for the claims, there are boards for the training. Lots of boards, lots of money spent, lots of paperwork to insert into the boards, lots of labor to change boards. And most of the boards are new or are a new change to an old board. It is relevant when you spend millions on boards that no one looks at, no one understands the paperwork that goes into the boards and no one has the time to update the boards. all while hours are cut, positions are cut and your store implodes around you. Just like the new t-shirts, lots of money spent---for what?

I don't think @Mcjr5Rx-jfk is relevant.

Do you mean new boards?

We just cleaned up this week and put up a bunch of stuff like that. We always had the legal notices in the break room but this is near the office. Sales reports & such. I think it's meant to inspire people.

Some of those hr "boards" are legally required (wage poster, etc). You will see posters and boards at most places of employment, personally I don't see this as a problem. I think there are much bigger things going on at SHC for us to be worried about.
