Heard that US HW and Tech sales have been pushing out sales reps and KADs, specifically targeting anyone over 55 regardless of performance.

Oracle, cheap, really? The cheapest F.... bastards on the face of the earth!
I think Oracle has gone cheap on the RIF process: no sign of the once-proverbial Friday FedEx truck arriving by 10 a.m. With the bye-bye packet.
Or maybe there are enough people being booted to make US Mail a suitable and common carrier.
Other companies and Fidelity is an excellent example are run by decent people who care about their names and reputation; in contrast Oracle is run by a greedy a--hole and that my friend sums it up
"Fidelity Investments on Tuesday said it is offering voluntary buyouts to 3,000 of its longer-tenured workers, the first program of its kind for the Boston money manager.
The firm on Tuesday began offering buyout packages to employees who are at least 55 years old and have been with the firm for a minimum of 10 years, a spokesman confirmed. The packages were offered to 6.7% of Fidelity’s 45,000 employees globally.
Payouts as part of the buyout program can range from six months of salary to more than two years for senior and longer-tenured staff. The offers include base pay and a special bonus. The buyouts are expected to be effective at the end of June and employees have several weeks to consider the offer."
ORACLE NEVER offers buy-outs - they just fire you. W\hat is wrong here ?
Those in my group laid off Jan 19 were all 50+. Personally had "exceeds expectations" rating & raise
Dec 1. Since raises are nearly unheard of, I should have anticipated being axed less than 2 months later.
The people on notice should file a class action lawsuit and beat the crap out of LE

Can we tag this appropriately #AgeDiscrimination
Not so much a layoff, but a trimming of the gray.

I can confirm this. The sales group I work in has 50% of the people on notice that they will be let go on June 1st. It is all the people in the group over 50, even though some of the under 50 team have put up significantly less revenue. Coincidence?
Have u ever seen LE's assistants?
ageism anyone ?
That's the kind of thing you want want your attorney to talk to the Attorney General's office on your state about to get a multi-state AG investigation going
Not unusual but we lost NCGs last month too.
Company has large age gap due to hiring slowdowns during recession. An age demographic chart would probably show clusters of workers falling into either "well seasoned" or "much too fresh".
