Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Denying Unemployment Benefits

Anthem has not only let good, long term employees go, they are also denying unemployment benefits in mulitiple states, even though they said they wouldn't deny those benefits. It's dishonest and completely insane.

Working for the Employment Commission I wanted to stress an employer cannot deny benefits, If the third party reports left as a quit (A fact finding interview will take place), in most cases the claimants will be found eligible for Unemployment Benefits, a delay yes however, they will most likely collect UI.

I did provide an example. Coworkers in Virginia, for example, were let go and told they wouldn't be fought for unemployment benefits. Each one I've talked to has been denied because of Anthem's "story." Apparently HR has a third party that handles the unemployment requests. So their speech is that the employee left with work available. Untrue.

I'll be the first person to confirm things when I see Anthem make a bad move, but provide an example of them not honoring benefits.

Because they are flat broke, as so, so many companies are. It is all being covered up as long as possible. We have been lied to by corporate america since 2008.

There was no recovery, there was a debt fueled, credit driven bubble which looked like a recovery. Now it is popping.
