Intel crushed everyone 25 years ago riding superior growing volume from x86 and rapid process cadence supported by that volume while everyone elses volume and process cadence slowed down. That was the virtuous cycle!

Witness now how the ARMy volume rise is 10x what x86 was and Samsung and TSMC process cadence is faster while intel slowed down. Today TSMC and Samsung volume both towers over Intel. With that volume give them an ad rage that is unbeatable! Like Ti, IBM, Motorola and everyone else was swamped by Intel.

What for intelers to noodle is that those companies had profits and many lines of business and even then couldn't beat the virtuous cycle. All intel has is x86 monopoly and NO monopoly lasts forever they always fall. And the ARMy has breached all the walls!

Intel failed even five years ago to react to what was the obvious threat. They sat on their monopoly and dogmatic PSO didn't do anything.

You greatly underestimate how much Microsoft has changed since the last time. No longer confused about what they are trying to do and the value prop to be offered. Last time were trying to defend OS sales. No more. All-in on cloud services, competing with Chrome Books (not Ipads as before).

As usual Intel plays whackamole with shiny objects. This time includes intentionally taking eye off of core business at the same time is a huge mistake. And betting on the server business which always was built as high leverage from desktop business. This is a house of cards being created. KS always put big focus on Chrome books. Now the answer piss on this and the rest of the PC business. Step back from even trying to lead the industry (ie stop IDF). Such arrogance will explode in 2017. Watch for the new (reactive) marketing in H2 around "no, wait, we really do care about PCs".

This is looked like another desperate trial of MSFT to push win10 to mobile.

Most of peoples will prefer x86-based Win10 PC (Intel/AMD). Intel shall add cellular to PC too and by that fight against Qualcomm and AMD. No major risk to Intel.

Last time MSFT released Windows on ARM it didn't work and it had to do huge recall and shutdown the series (Surface RT).
