Negotiating Severance??

I understand that severance is not a given, but I have read a lot about how to negotiate severance. Has anyone tried to negotiate their severance with DXC/HPE/CSC? Has anyone heard of anyone doing this?

Is there anyway I can get in touch with you privately. I'm a UK employee and have a case with CSC/DXC

I'm recently ex-CSC in UK, severance is legal minimum according to UK law plus a small enhancement as a sweetener to go quietly. I managed to get pay off increased, but only as I threatened to go legal on them. Take legal advice & if you have any grounds at all - set the legal hounds on to them , they will cave if cost is less than fighting the claim.

US employees can negotiate their severance, but it is a matter of whether the company is willing to play along or not. Not sure if DXC/HPE would be willing to negotiate. There is nothing to sign with the new severance package, which strikes me as odd. The paperwork is very slim and seems like it was hastily put together.

The discussions about negotiating severance are for countries that have laws in place, like Canada and Europe. Believe it or not HPE/DXC offers about have of what they legally should pay. Those who are unaware or couldn't be bothered fighting with them take it, and that is what HPE counts on, that people will just agree and sign. The others who know what their entitlement is, have their severance negotiated by a lawyer and it increases substantially.

Take it or leave it. Typically, those are your choices in the US.

Yes, its a waste of time unless you have something to use against the company, patents, licenses, etc. Good Luck, severance is not a right its luxury.
