Just heard from one of the team leads. I don't have any press link as the team were only recently informed.
Disappointing. ... They are a highly talented group of people.

Was with Intel India, Can't say the US folks trust us. Indians in general have the habit of moving around in gangs of people covering each other when their team is laid off. The good talent is let go and the left overs are "absorbed" in some other group.
It is high time that these groups are broken and consider a major re-org at Intel India, where its all just talk.
@1oms... If you think XMM7360 was developed in India you have an extremely limited understanding of the worksplit at Intel. Without China and Europe you wouldn't accomplish anything.
Powerpoints are done in the US. R&D is in India.
What is the talent of this "Very talented group" ? Making presentations?
Can confirm OP, they are offered relo or take packages. Very talented group, haters have no clue of the people affected by this.
Intel Bangalore single-handedly pulled XMM7360 and the customer project out of the fire. Contributions from Germany and USA were laughable!
And nothing of value was lost.
honest question here ... what major products has an Intel-India team done to-date?
Just more overpriced employees getting the boot. This will continue to happen since Intel growth is non-existent. No new ideas. Everything fizzled out. Joke.
@Git yes that is where the value of companies that do not or no more innovate is.
Good riddance. More overpriced engineers gone who didn't add any value. They can invest that money into Bangalore and Hyderabad where real value for the company is created.
Too many heads too many heads we need to cut cost big time is what I hear. The beginning of many new ACTs from the clown.
Happy Easter
Certainly NOT a Good Friday for these folks.
More talented a team is, more at risk it is! Unless the team is based in US or Israel or India.
Re-org continues, many groups that need "absorbed" as result of re-org will need layoff some of their employees. I heard many groups impacted as "absorbed" layoffs 30%-50%.
