Any update to the rumored "Big cuts" that are suppose be coming in June/July timeframe?
There may be layoffs but it only effect small fraction of talented employees. Those who are on managers/directors side are untouchables. This is true across MDC/NDC and 176/228 Hopkinton.
Those people who don't contribute will get pay hikes, full bonuses, WFH, promotions and will never lose jobs. Just sick, across storage.
There is a big layoff coming. Everybody will get hit, even support.
Remive the weeds. How appropriate on the day 420 for the decimation of the Campus team on Round Rock TX. But these were not weeds....
Look at Q1-end timeframe , that's the usual window used to "catch-up" on RIF. After a Q working in new set-up the redundancies will be straightforward (ie. manager know who they want to keep).
Good news, market in most part of the globe is good for employee now. Spruce up your linkedin account and get on glassdoor newsletter...
Lot's of money to be paid out to boot people out. Good luck EMC and Dell folks. Times have changed. Don't get too emotional as you made the choices along the way
So are EMC folks the only ones getting booted out?
Forget about overlapping divisions and products. You will be better off if you can get rid of bad managers and employees across EMC and Legacy Dell storage. You all know who they are................. it's never late
Push out the door with nothing but owed vacation pay and a few weeks pay is waiting for former EMC employees as well. They just need to patiently hang around :).
EMC is no more! In fact, the Tucci spirit died a slow death once it became clear that networked storage systems were dying with the HDD - and as a result it was time to sell out. There were only two companies that would fit the bill to become the EMC dance partner here: HPE and DELL. They both were server companies. With networked storage to collapse into server based HCI, this made sense. What no one told the employees however was that the combined 140,000 employees is way too rich for the combined DELL technologies. With the networked storage business declining in market relevance and being replaced by cheaper HCI, the combined company has no choice but to go on a diet! Expect 100,000 employees or lower before long... So: if you are good at your job, look around and find employment elsewhere. You have a 28.6% chance of getting let go. Move now before it is too late! The best of luck.
Why are the EMC folks b--ching, they at least get a buy out layoffs on the Dell side have been a slap on the a-- and a push out the door with nothing but owed vacation pay and a few weeks pay..... Dell got a great sales force with EMC and now the legacy Dell upper management see's the threat and will as usual destroy it so they can continue their medicare leadership.
I would imagine he means people who can land 200k plus jobs and are not waiting for layoff :). Those people are also highly unlikely to get pink slip.
Attrition-Skilled employees who found great opportunities
What do you mean by that - employees who chose voluntary retirement to get a package and then look for another job ?
I have seen a lot, so does many in high tech
Winners:
Top of the cream who left long ago
Attrition-Skilled employees who found great opportunities
VSP- Voluntary separation
ESP- Early retirement
Losers:
Hard working and loyal employees
Those who don't play politics
Those who show up to work and contribute
Survivors:
Those who kiss a-- management, also managers who kiss a-- directors/VP's
Matrix management
Managers and directors who show that 8 or more employees reporting to them. Take employees from other managers and put them under, even though they never see them, talk to them or write reviews. This is just making fun of corporate structure and Dell, especially NDC/MDC
Those with fake skills, fake resumes, fake experience, and who manipulated background checks with references from friends NDC/Hopkinton
Layoffs s---s, but nothing wrong if weed can be removed. Sorry to say this, weed cannot be removed.
Where do I sign
In all transitions EMC has been through this is the worst no enjoys coming to work anymore
Tucci is long gone. He retired with his $39M payout in 2015. He's on the beach somewhere laughing.
Joe Tucci has no soul.
Joe Tucci is laughing all the way to the bank. More bonus second half if more people are let go.
Get ready, final blow for legacy EMC standard.
