Murthy is literally the biggest screamer and incompetent of them all.

QC has an extremely toxic and disrespectful work culture, where screaming and shouting profanities are the norm, starting from Murthy and his staff. One of the reasons Murthy is bringing these folks is to have people who can accommodate this kind of disrespect and culture. it is ridiculous to expect to bring in QC modem folks to learn Intel arch from the scratch and make it better than the guys who understand it better. This is not an issue of competency of Intel engineers, but rather a leadership failure starting all the way from BK. Bringing layers of QC folks en masse is not the solution for fixing Intel' delivery woes. Murthy has very little to show for 1.5 years at Intel.

The problem is not even that those Qualcomm guys who joined the SD site are bad technically. They just have zero people skills, which is why most of them were either pushed out by Qualcomm or would have been pushed out sooner or later.

There's one ex-QCOM guy there who is really a prime example. Ultra-opinionated dude. Once he told me flat-out at the beginning of a discussion "You are wrong!", and that was basically it. I don't even know if I was really wrong, as the discussion didn't lead anywhere after that (my design ended up in the product, so it could not have been so bad).

Anyway... the real kicker is that this Mr. Zeropeopleskills is a people manager. Yes, absolutely unbelievable. Also says a lot about how Intel picks managers.

What else is new? The whole San Diego site consists of people who couldn't make it at Qualcomm. Or why would anyone leave Qualcomm for the mediocre Intel salaries? Thanks to having a couple of friends in Qualcomm management, I know of two guys there who already had their pink slips from Qualcomm when they were lucky enough to get an offer from Intel, and Intel never heard about the fact that they were let go for performance reasons.

@qob do you really expect an article to clearly spell out, "these execs were going nowhere at Qualcomm and they're now at Intel"?

Typical engineer.
