Some of these kid's had over 7 different managers is the last 15 months. No direction whatsoever. No focus. What a waste of stockholder value. Shame on them!

True, I was an IBM CE, enjoyed it for the most part... but when I was on the team for a little over a year, I was seriously the most tenured person on the team. Everyone else had turned over or taken another job. Just constantly churning. That is setting aside the account reorgs. The exact opposite of the way CEs should work. I know when I was there CEs were expected to sign huge services, like outsourcing, agreements... which, even in the best of times for that business, was a rare occurrence.
IBM hires a certain percentage of college grads with no intention of keeping them long term - they are hired so that they can be laid off, so that IBM can point to them and say "see. we don't do layoffs based on age." The company even came out with an algorithm on how to do this mix a few years ago and even tried to patent it, but withdrew the patent when employees caught on and tried to question it.
I work for a recent acquisition and we have been asked to leverage the IBM Client Executives relationships to existing customers. The CE's I have contacted have zero "leverage" because IBM changes their assignments every six months and the customers have told the resellers not to bring them around since it's a waste of time to get to know them. Meanwhile, their quotas are on an annual basis, even though they have no idea who they will be calling on in six months.
