Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How many people have been laid off in the last couple of months?

"According to information from two store workers who spoke to Business Insider on the condition of anonymity, the cuts affected most of Kmart's 800 stores.

Among the positions cut were assistant store managers, front-end leads (managers in charge of the customer-facing part of the store), backroom leads (managers in charge of unloading and organizing merchandise in the stock room), and pricing leads (managers in charge of pricing and store signage)."

Eddie Lampert's quote after laying off 130 at HQ..."these actions follow actions that impacted our Kmart and Sears stores and field locations in the past two months."

This seems to be in relation to the restructuring. Regarding the non-HQ lay offs....are we talking hundreds or thousands of lay offs? anybody have an idea?

But they didn't layoff all the security. More store still has plenty.

Well I kind of hope no one is reporting SHC laid off all the security.

I really don't feel safe with that kind of news being reported.

O.K., ... I give up. You're right, I had tried (but failed) to put a "spin" on my re-structuring of Sears through massive lay-offs with little or no notice. Still, I should be forgiven for that chump-change action a couple of weeks ago, where I settled a lawsuit from investors for a $40-million pay-out. Gee, why are my Sears employees so mean .... and not performing ?

Got laid off yesterday and I heard 700 security were laid off altogether. It is a free for all for shoplifting now. No security in most stores.

This is good. The media is not buying the "Transformation" BS any longer thanks to everyone on this board. It is good Business Insider is reading this board and taking things seriously. Business Insider is asking direct questions and all SHC is doing is putting out BS press releases hoping no one would notice.

Guys/Gals keep this up. This will be a fun year seeing everything implode and seeing if SHC can put a positive PR spin on the layoffs and closings.

Sears was bankrupt years ago.

But the "recovery" story had to be sold hard, so Sears and many other retailers were reanimated by easy money from the FED.

Ever wonder where the tens of trillions printed since 2008 went? Among other places, injecting zombie companies like Sears with funny money.

Why? So the masses would believe in the recovery. A person with a paycheque thinks all is well in the world and doesn't ask questions.

Sears was too big a company to let it fail during the manufactured, phony "Recovery."

But, now that the Fall Guy Trump is in. The collapse can commence.

"Make America great again!"

HA!! America will be in full scale collapse within 6 months at most, and war soon after.

Congratulations to the two anonymous workers who had the guts to speak to Business Insider. Employees might as well speak out, since all jobs at SHC are temporary at best.
