Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Inventory

DXC has decided to call its people resources - inventory - so, the big question is which arm do you want your RFID injected. Every quarter, old inventory out and new inventory in ... got to keep refreshing the inventory and of course cheaper inventory. We need Trump to stop them.

@M667GjK-2xlw @M667GjK-inzo , stated as "In our business people are inventory, right?" during the Thursday, March 2nd webcast of the HPES All Employee Meeting. HPE Employees can watch the moment around 1:11:05 into the meeting.

I agree, the inventory comment was terrible. Just shows the depth of rot in the hpe culture and I'm sure this will hurt Dixie Tech right out of the gate. Sad.

I guess we are an expensive high quality inventory to be replaced by a cheap low quality inventory. How can Nefkins live with himself when he disrespects his employees and shareholders? No need to answer, I know. I'm selling all my remaining HPE stock prior to April 1st.

Who does Mike Nefkins think he is? A chat show host or something? I'm new to ES after being shunted over to the group along with the bulk of the internal global IT team. Maybe he should send off his resume to NBC and quit these internal 'fire side chats'. Calling us 'inventory' was an absolute disgrace... and all in front of a key customer he invited to his little show!

I also like the way he glossed over the number one item in his list for quarter... WFRs (work force reductions).

All this guys cares about is the millions he'll get riding on the back of his inventory.

Anybody who heard that line should be deeply offended... but this is what they actually believe. Gone are the days when employees could count on a career wherever they became employed, now you have to pick and choose your way through the minefields of companies run by greedy boards like HPE that consider their employees nothing more than numbers, rather than tangible assets - and find a place where you are treated like human beings, where you can actually have a career.

Mike Nefkens is pretty much everything that is censored on this board, in making that statement. I feel bad for my colleagues who remain under the heel of these soulless, and clueless executives. There is a better life outside of HPE/DXC.

I have reviewed the section on the All Hands call and Nefkens does indeed say "Our people are inventory, right?" in response to a question on layoffs. Awful thing to say. I know that I am merely a resource to the company, but to be referred to as 'inventory' makes me sound like a box on a warehouse shelf, waiting to be sold...Really not impressed.

Yeah, I heard it too. In his all hands, he said something like they got rid of 15K people this past quarter and hired 14K. Then he made the comment about "rotating inventory". Such an inspirational leader!

@M667GjK-2acj Could I ask where and when you heard Nefkens refer to people as 'inventory'?

It's not a joke sadly. I heard Mike Nefkens referred to us as inventory. What an inspiring leader!

I guess its only one step down from "human resources" and maybe one thing better than "meat sacks".

Perhaps I shouldn't publish such ideas...
