Intel is not a bad place to work. Pays well including benefits, interesting work in places, smart people, built in respect.
The work environment is not awful -- unless you buy into the BS pronouncements about culture/beliefs and high opinion of itself as a paragon of a well managed org. This is causing today's toxicity -- say one thing, do another. At a Trump level these days. Company today is different than it used to be - culture used to be top notch.
If you don't fall for the "we're special" belief system, and have your eyes wide open, its a good place to work. But there are many other equally good places. Not special anymore.
