Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Layoffs today at DFW

Few folks from Ticketing at DFW let go today. More are expected. Looks like tge cuts have become an ongoing feature.

Any similar news from other DFW groups or other locations ?

Do you guys really think all your negative comments come from empathy and help in any way? Life is about change. If you were let go and you did not like the company you were working for, isn't it a relief that you are out and got some money?

If you are one of those who are still in the company and think sh-- about it, why don't you leave? Are you tied to your chair or have such a low delf esteem that do not dare to find something else out in the market?

What's the point in complaining?!

Time for reflection... I recommend you go to therapy because the only one who suffers that negativity, is you!

Got my notice yesterday as well. I was originally told that it would be on the 20th of March so it was sooner than expected but I was fortunate to know it was coming. Not sure the 20th still applies for those still left. Just sad to see the company headed this way. The cuts are coming from everywhere and not just those with an under performing review. Not sure how much longer this can go on without having significant impacts to our customers. At the rate it's going it wouldn't be surprising to see the company sell the main campus and move the remaining folks into one of the buildings that have been leased long term. No sense having a headquarters with no one in it.

Was told that there was going to be another big layoff in May. Probably a lot of delivery. Interact, Testing, etc.

Not surprised at all to hear about Sabre's continued struggles. The cracks began widening some years ago when the new management team and their (lack of a clear) strategy ignited the downward spiral. Every customer meeting was fraught with complaints that were never fully answered or resolved. Investment budgets were continuously cut, yet the executive salaries were never touched.

Glad many of us made the decision to exit a couple years ago, but still painful to see our old colleagues having to deal with the misery that continues on.

If Sabre needs to grow then non performer needs to leave. The true growth will come only if they remove the right set of people who does not have any idea how the system works and what impact will have on delivery/stability if something changes. Trust me things need to change from top level not from bottom. Firing SM, Dev, QA or BA will not change anything but more loss to company try removing from top and feel the change.

Sabre is finished. Going to be the next Nokia / Blackberry / Kodak. Only a question of time now. Just wait and watch the Titanic go down bit by bit while the management team watches on helplessly

Employees are aware of these and these reductions are having an adverse impact on morale. Management probably thinking that small cuts like these will go unnoticed, but employees are smart.

Reductions going on since 3Q 2016

So if today DFW guys were laid off then tomorrow KRK and BLR will be 'under attack'. Every month brings new reduction of our colleagues. Nice...

Not surprised at all by the news. Expecting more to be coming in the near future. Looks like the new management team is trying to prove itself through reorgs. No real steps taken in years to handle outages and stability which are losing customers. No shortage of talk however on this topic. The Operations leadership appears to be clueless on how to handle the stability issue. Waiting for the next outage to happen

The company will soon be a skeleton of its former self since its competitors like Amadeus are grabbing market share by the day.
