And just wait for Qualcomm Snapdragon to start shipping in laptops running Windows 10 with x86 instruction set emulation. Looks like that is going well too...

Looks like x86 is getting competition for the first time in almost a decade and it isn't even as fierce as what Intel faces in IoT, AI, Autonomous driving, modems or VR and looks how they are schooled by a smaller company with inferior silicon technology.

Anyone want to predict the outcome for the other battles?

The issue though is even with these price cuts, Intel's top processors are still several hundred more than Ryzen 1700x and 1800x...Add in motherboard and CPU cooler, etc, the price difference is even greater....

And even if you have price parity, the performance is the 1800x overclocked is still outperforming Intel's best. The only reason why you would buy an Intel processor is brand loyalty. Performance AND price just isn't there anymore.
