Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Commission Structure Change

So SM'S will have a conference call this coming week to explain to them how the CSA will now be the store replacements for MCA and CAC. Presumed hourly wage or base plus pay scale. No way it will be what they are paid currently in the better commissioned departments. Unfortunate.

They probably do change the rules, but Sears/Kmart on store level break policy all the time. Not just associates, management as well.

For jewelry, I'm sure they can change the rules about who's allowed back there across the board if they want to.

Does anyone really know if commission is changing?

If so,will it be for the entire store?

I would live to know the the facts are on this,if anyone knows for sure.

Agree with @1twb. When help is needed in the jewelry department only managers or leads can come in to help behind the counter if the official jewelry people aren't available. Because of the security clearance level. One of the long time jewelry associates got into trouble because she let an MCA come in to help her and the MCA didn't have the right clearance. They were in there together. The MCA wasn't left alone but it was a problem.

Like so many policies at the Sears where I work, policies are not stated outright until someone violates the policy & then the offender is in trouble but they didn't know there was such a policy.

Jewelry salespeople have to pass level 2 background checks, just like managers and leads.

Supposedly you need a security clearance to work in the fine jewelry dept. I wonder how that's going to work?

All our commissioned people are there for the commissions. They would have taken those other jobs if that's what they wanted to do.

I believe it applies to all positions. Cross train everyone to do all jobs and make everyone hourly. No more commissions, no more or very few salaried employees. Mostly minimum wage employees, an ASM (not two) and a store manager.

What's does FDA stand for?

The rest I could follow including difficulty finding out how much vacation time you have accrued.

Making regular floor people & cashiers into one blended position isn't that unusual. It's normal to do both at other stores.

The change in commission thing though is substantially changing the job.

Does anyone know if this applies to fine jewelry too?

To the Auto CSA: I am an AACM AKA as an ASM. You will need to check your FDA rates to see any changes and you can find that info located at no place on the AC login page. Just ask your ACM to contact their DSM for clarification. You should also ask about accrued vacation time if you really want no clear answer.

From what I read on pebble today, that CSA's might have a change in in FDA. It sounds like you may have read that very unclear message regarding the CSA's FDA earlier this afternoon.

You can post there too but I don't.

Well if this is the case then I know two of the four in mattresses will quit they won't help even if it is dead in the store. But ring up regular customers will if we have market leader in the store. Going downhill fast......

Our CAC and MCAs were just combined. Is it changing again?

I don't understand all the initials used on this board. I'm a CSA in automotive. Will this change affect me? Thanks
