Dell folks better work hard to keep their jobs after the second half.
I heard from upper management on the EMC side that layoffs were done for this side of the globe. Not to sure if that meant America or the east coast. Dont know if that includes Dell side either. No occupied buildings in Hop are getting shut down. That was stressed so it means other buildings will be shutdown in some cities. They are planning to move more people to Hop as it is the hub of the corp. Also figure out how many people they can push to work more remote from home. I also did hear previously that in August there was going to be one last big one once they start moving people around and figure out more "synergies" Some what comparable to the big one we had back in Jan 2016 which was BIG. 400 just at 176 alone. They had to call taxis to get people home due to people that car pooled. The number Im hearing is to get the head count down to around 100k. Thats a lot more people to get let go..
There's no calm. It is always storm. If you're lazy keep your cube at minimum. If you're dedicated, do the best and look one palm ahead (and adopt 5S in your team - it's a smarter way to keep cubes at minimum).
Day isn't over the Half isn't over.
Wait till Bill R and Mario Speaks and then decide to pack things up.
Managers are safe , the minions are the ones who get shafted. Dell is a culture of BS
