Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Kmart Lays off/ eliminates more salaried positions across the country, https://www.aol.com/article/finance/2017/01/27/sears-is-laying-off-worker

"We are hopeful that associates affected by reduced staffing requirements apply for open positions at other Sears and Kmart locations." So there is a Kmart or Sears that is hiring ? Get laid off from a salary of 50k and benefits then reapply for a part time job with no benefits for $11/hr. Sears has lost about $10 billion in recent years. If they had invested half of that in properly compensating and retaining hard working employees they might be leading the retail world today. Many people today are willing to pay a little more for quality they can trust. Charging more and delivering less doesn't work long term. You can only burn people so many times before they start to wise up.
