One of our GEMS was promised a raise, and more benefits and all she got was traveling everyday, fighting traffic to do other jobs at other stores because they can't hire anyone. So basically, doing the work of three or four people for the same money. Good Deal
They did make a sitcom that describes this trainwreck: British Show called "Are you being served?" Describes this mess completely. Only deference is in the the , was the owners were senile old men, in our case we have a money grubbing elitist.
It's almost comical working for this company. They should make a sitcom.
Of all the associates that entered the GEM program at our store, none got promoted! All they got from the program was extra work and a stream of empty promises. Disgruntled with their situations, all have since left the company.
In our store no one has taken any kind of new position because every single person who has taken on more responsibility has been let go within a few months. Just a way to push higher paid employees out the door
Was told by a DM back in the mid 90s!! The closer you are the the customer (now members) the safer your job is!!
