Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Having problems figuring out our message in the rags.....can we have it both ways ?

Some articles indicate we didn't have the cloud biz figured out and do now. So please let us write off our debt and let us sell Avaya cloud and software and services like our competition does. http://www.pcworld.com/article/3159582/networking/avaya-says-bankruptcy-is-a-step-toward-software-and-services.html

And other articles indicate that we were there all along and just didn't get our message out. Which begs the question will the creditors and courts allow us to write off our debt and "we promise to get the leadership on board that WILL get our message out".

What products will actually be running the "in the cloud"? I see a problem if they want to sell off UC, CC & Data. Will Avaya R&D new HW/SW to run the cloud? How would they be able to keep technology they want use in cloud yet also want to sell off for debt?

Avaya's cloud strategy is to say cloud a lot. IP Office isnt multi-tenant and Aura doesnt scale to cloud scale and both are a pig to manage. Zang appears to use neither (ESNA code?) so maybe it has a chance.

If you go through the recent org change email by R&D VP, the focus is on cloud. And it says we now need to focus more on as a service cloud model. Until now Avaya was only at very preliminary stage and nothing really got implemented.
