3M is replacing some laid off workers with contractors. I was brought back as a contractor in the Electronics and Energy lab in December 2016 after working for 10 years in IATD lab and being laid off Nov 2015. The work still needs to get done but the prefer outsiders who are paid unlivable wages w/o benefits...
