Do you think the select group of arrogant, entitled mid and senior level managers are smart enough to see the walls closing in on them? Or, are they blissfully ignorant to the re-creation of Sears and Kmart inside their building?

To answer this question, you only have to look as far as today's communication from RG regarding the last employee survey. Senior leadership is not only clueless about employee morale and employee views of senior leadership but more importantly financial results. Senior leadership indicates that financial results are turning around this year and are an indicator that their strategy is working. MLS thought long term. RG thinks only short term profit. Almost every change made over the past two years is a one-time pickup that won’t occur again. When sales decline again next year, what will they cut to make the bottom line? Employees. Until sales over last year increase the layoffs will continue every six months. Sales to plan only matters for senior leaderships bonus. MLS was right when she said it is unethical to make plan less than last year to obtain a bonus.
Watch the movie Titanic. Your side of the ship may be going down last, but this whole ship is going down. Describe perfect, no merit, no bonus, poor healthcare, reduced 401k match and increased work load as layoffs/voluntary leaves are not replaced? Year over year sales declines? Layoffs every quarter?
