Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Galway, Ireland office

Does anyone know the impact in the Galway office in Ireland? Are they laying people off there?

I just got an offer for a dev role there and wondering if it's worth taking?

Galway is a great place to work and has a great management team. Corp is a long way and there are no distraction, you can just focus on your career.

I think the response above is sound to only go to Galway if you are not currently working and need a job. Don't leave a current job for it. Galway would be a great place to live with some nice people and interesting work. The risk to Avaya's future is still very high for all locations. Even if the Chapter 11 is short lived and Avaya comes out of it intact, the entire market is shrinking and Avaya will continue to operate under tight constraints and budget reductions. As an ongoing company , staff reductions will continue. CC business is good, but it too is shrinking YoY along with the UC systems it is predominantly sold with. Hoping this all goes well.

Only accept if you haven't got s job already. Do not leave a job to start in Avaya Galway.

Do not heed the madness and rubbish posted here.

Galway office is one of the happiest workplaces I've been in.

The negativity on this forum exists on this forum. Not anywhere else.

As for the offer is say take it and enjoy it.

Avaya is here to stay

I will be leaving Avaya Bangalore soon. I worked here only 7 months. The work environment is very disappointing. Every day you will just gey demotivated more and more. I am glad to get an offer again, otherwise, I would have collapsed my career due to politics. No one works here, only talks.

If you are already employed, don't take Avaya offer. Otherwise you can join Avaya and start looking for a job elsewhere.

I got an offer for dev role from Bangalore office and am joining Avaya because I am confident about it.

In case there is a layoffs I trust myself that I can get a job easily in a week's time.

So I'll suggest go for it... Together we can make Avaya great again...

Ireland and all other countries outside the USA are not effected. The highly negative comments are mostly competitors throwing mud or plain trolls. Galway is a big base of ciders with multiple products developed there so I am sure it's great experience and competitive rates for a new employee.

Run a mile and don't look back. Be thankful you didn't waste anytime taking role. Dead end going nowhere. Existing employees waiting for opportunities to GTFO.
