...Oh..And you are wrong thinking I hate Trump. I like him better than Hillary. Less taxes for me, less estate taxes, less capital gains, and inflation that wage slaves won't be able to keep up with while assets inflate.with inflation. What's not to like about Trump? I am merely pointing out the funny part that populists think this will be good for them.

Wages never keep up with inflation. Never has never will.

No most Americans are f---ong stupid when it comes to money management. All the way to sending their kids to study some bullsheet arts degree in conversation linguistics to allow them to "pursue their dreams " that leads to that "you want fries with that" career. That's why you don't have many men and women actually pursing STEM degrees in this country. And why they are now fked up the AZZ.

Hey OP -- What was Hillary going to do to help the middle class? I don't seem to recall,

either because she didn't communicate one or she had no plan as she was too busy enriching herself from foreign despots contributing to her, eh, "foundation".

And get your facts straight -- many working class are quite thrifty. You might want to enlighten yourself by reading "The Millionaire Next Door". And they don't pay an arm and a leg on their income, their taxes primarily come from sales taxes.

Your Trump tantrums are diverting you from the topic of Intel layoffs. Most folks would rather hear about expectations on Q4 numbers and the resulting impact on the employee base instead of your whining.

Of course all these wealth preservation and complicated tax rules ....most people with limited education and financial resources don't understand....So they never know how they can take advantage of them. That's why I found it also funny that people were so surprised our POTUS didn't have to pay much taxes and probably neither will his kids. And yet OK with it too, despite most of these populist wage swirlers having to pay an arm and a leg in taxes on their much lower income.. But whatever. There's a reason why our tax codes are so complicated and why it will never change.

@ufs.

It's away for your kids or heirs to avoid paying capital gains.

Let's say you bought stock at $20/share. And the current price is $50. If you sell, you would subject to $30 in capital gains taxes per share.

Step up cost basis is a rule that says if your heirs inherit your stock, their cost is "reset" to the fair market value of the stock the day they inherited it.

So for example. On the day you die and your kids inherit your stock, the stock price is $50...Their new cost is $50...., NOT $20... If they were to sell the same day, they owe no capital gains taxes. Now the inherited stocks would be subject to estate taxes maybe...But not so, if estate taxes are eliminated....Hence why I said your kids will thank k the GOP and.thid adminstration if they can successfully pull this off finally....That is, unless of course you mismanaged your money and assets like most populists did..In that case, well their kids are pretty screwed too, just like them.

What exactly is step up cost basis?

Lol. Unless you are an uneducated , unskilled populist that peed away your life savings, you have nothing to worry about.

The next 4 years will reward ....shareholders and real estate owners first.

Also,your kids will thank Trump and the GOP if they are finally able to eliminate estate taxes. An attempt was made during Bush Junior days but failed. Hopefully it will succeed this time. That has huge implications on transfer of real estate and equity, because in addition to the already favorable step up cost basis for capital gains on assets and the reset for depreciation recapture for investment property that already exists that won't be eliminated as was planned by Hillary to help the stuggling middle class, on top of that,if there is no estate taxes that would be icing on the cake. And if the GOP and this administration are successful in pushing this thru, it will be extremely difficult to undo, just like the ACA.

We live in exciting times
