Most likely not....whispers of q3 pick up but that is management prediction and we all know how accurate they have been so far....chances are any pick up slb won't get the work but rather the competition.

SLB put everyone that they let go from MI Swaco on the "Not Eligible for ReHire" list. So if they did that to your segment...not much of a chance.

You don't have a cat in hell's chance of working for Slb again. Are you any good at flipping burgers?

I don't think you need to worry about this right now. Layoffs are not even over yet. The downturn will continue throughout this year and possibly till next year.

If you were at a Sr. position and older, forget it. SLB will hire young, fresh off college people.

I am the OP.My manager was let go. I am nothing special. Just a senior mechanical engineer who knew lot about how the business worked. Not sure if I should even call and ask other managers. I am in touch with them.

If you were good at your job and your old boss knows this, then there is a good chance, i am in a position where when it gets busier i know the exact people who i will be calling to come back to work either with me or i will be recommending for positions in another place, we all know a lot of good people who lost jobs instead of the others that should have.

Not likely. You had a position with redundancy or easily done without and not hurt the business. Your equals take up the slack or those under/around you distribute your necessary work. New hires will be trained up to fill positions and the accelerated fix step training program will make them somewhat functional as they acquire experience. SLB personnel favors new hire right out of school over any tenured employee. It's business with lots of flaws in its execution.

Do u still connect with the your manager?? And are your managers still there ??. If yes u have 20@ chance, because other 80@ will be given to their relative. If u dont have any of that, hhbebebeb. Good luck. I apply to other company and wait 6 month for an interview and take 2 month to get an offer. It will be same with slb hiring process. Do u want to wait for luck or move on. It is up to u ,if they ever decide to call back people.

Seriously, keep looking for another job. Do not sit and wait to be called back. The big blue machine will use you up and spit you out just like before.

Watch the rig count and providing you have a good track record there they may rehire you. But why the heck would you want to back into that hell hole?
